About this product
As peace breaks out, there’s free beer for all at a spontaneous party in the 1100 block of Huntingdon Street in North Philadelphia. The moment Japan’s surrender was announced on Aug. 14, 1945, Mayor Bernard Samuel ordered all the bars in town to close, but the celebratory thirst was not to be denied.
